YOGA CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

SLOW FLOW

A calm stress-relieving class that stretches and strengthens the body gradually. Focusing on awareness of the breath and the body. Asana is practiced at a slower pace with attention to alignment and detail. Perfect for every level and those with special concerns or injuries.

YIN

In this class we never leave the floor...or the wall. It includes deep flexibility, sometimes with props, and asanas (postures) that will help the body completely relax and let go. Yin/Restorative postures are done more slowly and held for slightly longer periods of time than in a more "yang" or dynamic, practice. These longer holds, or stretches, help to release and lengthen the connective tissue more deeply and therefore are a great complement to everything else we do. So whether your goal is to increase mobility, sleep more deeply, or leap tall buildings in a single bound, this class is for you!! Excellent class for beginners and advanced yogis alike!

BEACH VINYASA FLOW

An invigorating vinyasa flow class that will leave you feeling balanced and strong. This class will include core work and some optional inversions. Our best prop is the sand but feel free to bring a blanket and yoga block if you would like. All levels welcome.

ADDRESS: 15th Ave Beach Access IRB, go south of this access when you arrive on beach. Parking available at studio.

HATHA

In this traditional yoga practice, we will flow through a series of sitting, standing, and balancing postures with a focus on strengthening the mind body connection. Each asana (yoga pose) will be held for 3-10 breaths, allowing time for focus on alignment, muscle engagement, and mental clarity. Expect this practice to include asanas that challenge targeted muscle groups such as the core, back, or hip abductors.

The last 15 minutes of the practice will include a series of lying down postures as a cool down before we ease into a meditative savasana (final rest). All levels welcome.

ASHTANGA 101

This class is a sequence of postures from the Ashtanga primary series: taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of India. The intention is for students to learn a sequence of postures so they can focus on how their breath flows through each posture. Ashtanga yoga focuses on the Tristana method of breath, posture and gaze. This meditative practice offers students an opportunity to gain spiritual and physiological benefits. The pace is faster but can be modified for all levels of practice.

FUN FLOW

Join us for a fun filled vinyasa flow class that stretches, tones, and strengthens the body through mindful movement (and a good laugh). This class is practiced with attention to breath and body working together with steadiness and ease to create space in the body, mind, and spirit. Perfect class for every level from beginner to advanced students.

POWER VINYASA

An invigorating hatha yoga sequenced class incorporating power moves with flow, increasing the heart rate for cardiovascular benefits. This class begins and ends with seated yoga stretching for full body benefits.

VINYASA FLOW

Expect this practice to include sitting & standing postures, balancing postures, and beginner friendly inversions to target specific muscle groups and strengthen the connection between mind, body, & soul. All levels welcome.
